Jone is late — here's why
We said June. It's August. We're reworking Jone's interface from the ground up — not a polish pass, a rebuild — and that's worth the extra weeks. The release lands in August.
In June we wrote that Jone was on the final stretch and would land that month. It didn’t. It’s August, and the release is now August 2026.
We’d rather say that plainly than let a date quietly slip.
We’re reworking the whole interface
When we wrote “visual improvements”, we meant a polish pass. Then we started, and it became clear that polish wasn’t the answer. So we’re rebuilding Jone’s interface and the way it’s used, from the ground up — how the app looks, how it moves, how you get from a thought to a task and back out again.
The app and the web version are being brought into one shape, so they feel like one product rather than two that happen to share a name. Nothing is being added for its own sake. If anything, there’s less on screen than before.
That’s the whole reason for the delay. A rebuild takes longer than a coat of paint, and doing it halfway would have been the worse trade — we’d rather you meet Jone once, finished, than meet a rushed version and have it change under you three months later.
What’s still open
The planning helper we mentioned in June — the one that takes the boring part of planning your day off your hands — isn’t ready. It works, but not yet well enough that we’d let it move your tasks around unsupervised. It lands with the release or shortly after, when it’s right rather than when the calendar says so.
