Privacy
We collect the minimum we need to keep the site working — and nothing more. No cookies, no third-party trackers, no behavioural advertising. This page tells you what is processed, why, and what your rights are under the GDPR.
Controller
kofel is an informal group of independent developers, not a registered company. The controller responsible for this website under the GDPR is the natural person operating it:
Alexander Leonhartsberger‑Schrott

What we process
When you visit kofel.io, our web server records standard HTTP request data: your IP address, the timestamp, the page and asset paths requested, the HTTP status, the bytes transferred, the referrer header, and the user-agent string. We use these logs to operate the site (diagnostics, abuse mitigation, capacity planning).
When you contact us by email, we process the address you write from and the content you send, for the purpose of replying.
We do not set any cookies on this site. We do not embed analytics, advertising, social-media tracking pixels, or any other third-party scripts. Web fonts are self-hosted on our own infrastructure; they are not loaded from a third-party CDN.
Legal basis
Server logs: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating and securing the website. Email correspondence: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR — pre-contractual measures and contract performance, or Art. 6 (1) (f) for general inquiries.
Retention
Server access logs are retained for at most 14 days, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Email correspondence is retained as long as required for the purpose for which it was collected and to satisfy statutory record-keeping obligations.
Recipients
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Server logs reside on our hosting provider's infrastructure within the EU. Email is processed by our email provider, also within the EU.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- erasure of your data (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- data portability (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kofel.io.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. The Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) is reachable at Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at, dsb.gv.at.
