It’s here: Jone is on the App Store. As of today, you can download it.
One sentence, “remind me to call mom at 6pm tomorrow”, becomes a reminder with a time and a place, parsed locally on the device. No projects, no sprints, no nonsense. After the beta, Jone is now here for everyone.
Why it took a few days longer
Two weeks ago, the note here said: submitted, review usually takes a few days. This time it took longer, and for a plain reason: a few of Apple’s guidelines had to be implemented more strictly than we had first interpreted them. What seemed sufficient to us was, by Apple’s reading, not quite.
Reworked, resubmitted, approved. And honestly, in a few places Jone is cleaner than what we first built. For example, the wording we use when asking for permissions simply needed adjusting. That’s all it took there.
Thank you to everyone in the beta who told us what felt wrong, and to everyone who has been waiting since the August note.
And there’s no resting after a release. Version 1.1 is already in the works. It fixes a few bugs and polishes a few features, like the flow from idea to task.
