The industry has been talking about agents for months. Now they’re actually arriving.
At Google I/O 2026, Google unveiled Antigravity 2.0: an agent platform that goes well beyond a chat window. A single API call spins up an agent that executes code, manages files, browses the web, all inside its own Linux sandbox at Google. There’s now a desktop app, a CLI, and an SDK. Not a hackathon project anymore. It’s infrastructure.
Alongside it comes Gemini 3.5 Flash, fast enough to run entire agent fleets in parallel. No coincidence. The architecture is purpose-built for agents.
And Google isn’t alone. OpenAI has shipped GPT-5.5 with much better tool use and reasoning, and the entire ecosystem is drifting in the same direction: away from prompt engineering, toward delegatable tasks.
